You always kept everyone in line. “Excuse me!” You’d bark. “Keep it down! I’m not having this nonsense.” You were the best little boy, with the biggest personality. You changed my life, bud. We had 16 years together. I still miss you every day.

Max was my German Shepard alpha. He had very concrete feelings about who he shared his heart with, who he protected. He lived each day with the newness of a dog full of innocence but he carried the weight of his job, love, and me. It's part of what made him so uniquely special. I always said if he could live in my skin he would - it's how much he loved me. I wish I could have lived in his too - I loved him that much also.
Losing my Max broke me in places and ways that made me truly understand my bond with him was as family, to love forever no matter how many times my heart hurts from missing him. I share this memorial in honor of the most honorable dog I have ever had the privilege to love. He is running with his pack now, waiting for the rest of his family.
